On Thursday 15th December, Hawthorn High School hosted a Christmas meal for local
senior citizens to celebrate Christmas. A group of sixth form pupils dedicated the
day to decorating the room, serving food and providing entertainment throughout the
day in order to create a festive atmosphere.
The sixth form dressed up in Christmas costumes, and provided a variety of entertainment
after the meal. We would like to pay a big thank you to the kitchen staff for providing
the dinner, as well as the senior citizens for attending. The day was a great success
and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Deputy Head Boy Rhys White would like to congratulate the lower school pupils who
entered this year’s Welsh Cuisine Eisteddfod which proved to be a great success.
With a variety of entries covering the traditional welsh cakes, bara brith, shepards
pie, leak and potato soup as well as leak and lamb soup.
